Mike graduated from the City College of New York in 1960 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Accountancy. He earned a Masters Degree in Taxation from the same institution in 1966. He received his CPA designation - New York State licensure in 1966 also. Mike is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Conference of Certified Public Accounting Practitioners and the Institute of Management Accountants. Mike has been Treasurer of several charitable and philanthropic organizations from 1966 to present. He currently is on the Board of Directors and chairman of the audit committee of a large New York State domiciled insurance company.
Mike has specialized knowledge and experience in the following industries and areas:
- Forensic accounting in the determination of fraud and true economic value.
- Valuations of various entities and professional licenses including litigation support.
- Taxation, tax planning and management advisory services for closely held businesses, estates and trusts.
- Financial statement presentation and support.
- Accounting for Insurance companies (statutory accounting), insurance agencies and brokerages.
Mike has worked on many projects over the last 40 years including, but not limited to:
- Conducted numerous valuation engagements consisting of: Valuations of closely held businesses and licenses for marital disputes, buy/sell agreements and estate taxes.
- Offered expert witness testimony in both Federal and New York state courts and before the American Arbitration Association.
- Performed many certified audits for various closely held companies.
- Assisted in the formation of estate plans for various individuals.
- Represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service on audits, appeals and offer-in-compromise situations.
